The Lush Emotional Brilliance Experience!

Lush launched their Emotional Brilliance line worldwide yesterday! I posted a video about it on my youtube last night going into detail about the experience, products, and colors I ended up choosing. I also took some photos while I was at Lush. Above is my friend Kim's color reading. I honestly think this is true! She is a vibrant person, subconsciously has fantasies that need to be fulfilled, and her talent is that she's a successful person. Remember color readings are in the moment, and next time she goes, it might be totally different!

Here is my color reading. You can see some of the steam that still was left by the time I got my camera ready! According to the color reading, I am a motivated person, subconsciously I want to be more bubbly, and my talent is that I'm sophisticated (that label didn't come in at my store, but the tan/champagne color is "sophisticated").

There are two sets of testers that Lush stores carry. One is underneath the color wheel colors that you choose, in a hidden trap door type of thing. Underneath the color wheel, there is another set of testers in drawers that are easier to access if you just want to see what all the colors look like.

My Lush store was fortunate to have a lot of stock! I think it would be helpful to separate them into liquid lipsticks, eyeliners, and cream eyeshadows.

Another color reading... I wish the light blue "calm" color was a nail polish!

It was fun testing out all the products! I'm excited to start using the products I bought. I also can't wait to go back again and get another color reading.

Check out my video that explains the line in much more detail!

"Marie Antoinette" Inspired Luxury Lush Bath Cocktail

movies.nytimes.com

I have always enjoyed "Marie Antoinette" and thought it would be a perfect movie for a bath cocktail. Baths are luxurious by nature and so is this movie! Well, we all know what happened to Marie Antoinette in the end, but we can focus on the beginning of her life... elaborate parties, scrumptious food, elegant clothes, and bubbling champagne!

When planning the bath cocktail, I wanted to focus on the elaborate nature of Marie Antoinette and the movie in general. I thought a Fizzy Rose Candy bath would fit her personality perfectly!

I thought an elaborate set up was also important... this photographed beautifully!

I put so many products in this bath, I almost felt guilty... almost. But Ms. Antoinette would have wanted it this way!

The water turned out to be a brilliant hot pink... it was probably one of my favorite baths of all time... and it had floral notes!

I almost didn't want to get out of the bath... only the water turning cold motivated me to get out of the hot pink heaven. You really should try this bath, or at least parts of it- I truly felt royal!

Check out my video on this bath cocktail and let me know what you think about this scent combination.

Also, what do you think of this film? Watch the trailer if you haven't seen the movie!

1000 Subscriber Create-Your-Own Bath Cocktail Contest Winners!

Create-Your-Own Bath Cocktail Winners!

http://newspaper.li/lush/

The time has come! The two winners have been chosen from the 1000 Subscriber Contest. I was VERY IMPRESSED by everyone's creativity, and it was very hard to choose the two winners! I'll definitely have to do this contest again soon!
Drumroll, please.....

The two winners are the creative minds behind the "Sleeping Beauty" and "Forrest Gump" bath cocktails... HannahBearle and BeautyGirl! I'm going to insert their bath concoctions below so you can feel inspired like I did.

Help me congratulate the winners and try out their cocktails soon! Thank you to everyone for entering :)

HannahBerle's "Sleeping Beauty" Bath Cocktail
Winner of: $25 Lush Gift Card

The movie I chose was Sleeping Beauty. I created this bath cocktail today and enjoyed it this afternoon, it made a beautiful luxurious soak and I hope you like it :)

I started with twilight bath bomb for two reasons, the relaxing sleep inducing scent and also its colors. One of my favorite parts in the movie is when the fairies argue about whether to make her dress pink or blue and they aggressively fling swirls of pink and blue onto her dress and the design immediately made me think of twilight.

Next I used the rose jam bubbleroon for its name and scent. Before princess Aurora knew her true identity she lived in the woods with the three fairies who renamed her Briar rose. Also, while she was awaiting her true loves kiss to break her sleeping spell she was holding a rose on her chest and whenever i see the kissing scene in this movie i imagine the smell of roses (so romantic) lol
Next in the bath i used dream time bath melt. Not only does the sent relax you into a slumber but i imagine princess aurora, while in her slumber, dreaming of the prince she fell in love with in the woods,
And speaking of their meeting in the woods, this was my inspiration to use the sexy, floral lust soap. When they met they were in the woods surrounded by hundreds of flowers and full of love, passion and desire so i felt this fit perfectly.

When I take a bath i love to pamper myself (and i think we all should) so i indulged in some treatments. i used the maylin hair treatment to give my blond hair a light gold shininess that hers had.
I also used catastrophe cosmetic fresh face mask because of its light berry fragrance. when princess aurora met her prince for the first time in the woods it was because the fairies needed to plan her surprise birthday party and sent her to the woods to collect some berries. If that hadn't have happened she never would've lived happily ever after :)
I had soooooo much fun getting inspired and creative with this cocktail so thank you for the motivation :)

BeautyGirl808's "Forrest Gump" bath cocktail
Winner of: Lush prize pack

My cocktail today is going to be inspired by the beloved movie, Forrest Gump. Although the movie itself isn’t very relaxing or ideal for a bath, it is one of the most inspirational movies I have ever seen. So I wanted to include little elements of Forrest’s life into this bath.

Overall, the bath is on the outdoorsy and calming side. (After doing this, I have so much more respect for your creativity and how you still make everything smell nice together!) I hope you like it.

First, the base of the cocktail is Softy bath ballistic. This is a retro item that has a light floral scent. It is a perfect representation of who Forrest was, a complete softy. He wasn’t afraid to be a complete mama’s boy and would do anything for the love of Jenny. (An alternative: Rose Queen.)

Next is Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds bubble bar, which has a very earthy scent. I chose it because while Forrest was serving in Vietnam, it rained for FOUR MONTHS. So was overjoyed and he finally saw the sun and the blue sky. (An alternative: Rose Jam or Green.)

Finally, for the bath melt, Dreamtime. I chose this because throughout the whole story, Forrest follows his dream, his best friend and the one he loves, Jenny. The scent is very calming but will not clash with the other scents. (An alternative: Ceridwen’s Cauldron.)
So that is the base of the cocktail, the rest are just some helpful extra’s to tie it together.

Tramp shower gel- This has an earthy smell which represents his time in Vietnam, but also the name represents what Jenny became for a period in her life. Haha

Mud Flats Soap- This soap has, again, an earthy smell with some rose undertones (Totally optional because it’s not a scent for everyone.) It represents what Forrest’s skin was caked with in Vietnam, little did he know that it was also pretty good for his skin!

Seanik Shampoo Bar- I really wanted to include this in remembrance of Bubba, Forrest’s only friend in Vietnam. Bubba talked about his life and passion for the shrimping business 24/7! It’s one of those wacky characters that you can’t help but fall in love with!

Jungle Conditioner-I probably don’t to explain this one too much, this where Forrest spent a major part of his life fighting in the war, the Jungle.

Lovely Jubblies breast cream-A perfect way to end an earthy floral cocktail. This rosy cream is especially perfect because who could forget the scene when Forrest is reunited with Jenny and he lets her touch her… jubblies. It’s a very funny scene and life changing for Forrest.

I hope that you liked my idea Kirby! I really took A LOT of time coming up with everything! Sorry that it’s so long, but I hope you will consider me! My youtube username is beautygirl808 as well as my twitter name. Thank you.

“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get,” - Forrest Gump

Both winners need to email me their shipping information to VintageChic1927@gmail.com and I will send out the prizes at the beginning of next week!

Ozark Adventure: Relaxing "Freshwater" Bath

Our trip was exactly what my husband and I needed! Though it was a mini-vacay, we feel like we got to enjoy ourselves, have some downtime, and celebrate one year of marriage. We stayed in a cute, little cabin, and I brought a bag of versatile Lush products. I thought whatever mood I was in could be created from my bag of goodness :) I had this bath on Sunday evening, our first night at the cabin. My husband had already had freshwater fish and we were enjoying driving around all of the lakes. So I thought a relaxing freshwater type of bath would be perfect!

big blue bath bomb, 1/2 french kiss bubble bar, dreamtime bath melt

Big Blue is perfect to represent the deep blue waters, and I liked it's relaxing aspects. While refreshing, it also has lavender in it to make it calming. I chose the French Kiss bubble bar over my go-to Christmas Eve because I thought the name was more fitting (this is an anniversary trip, right?), and I like the outdoorsy quality to this bubble bar. The Dreamtime bath melt with sandalwood just balanced everything out. Ahh... it was the perfect combo!

the beautiful bath tub- part of why i booked this cabin!

now a couple pictures of our cabin...

It was such a fun trip, but now it's time to get things done at home! With helping out my mom, throwing a bachelorette party, filming some vids for you all (have a few vacation hauls to film!), and regular weekly things, it's going to be a busy week!

How was everyone's weekend?

Summer Wedding Bath Cocktail Series: 27 Dresses

After looking through everyone's requests, it was clear that "27 Dresses", was a clear favorite! I have always enjoyed this movie, so I decided it was a great choice for the last cocktail in my summer wedding cocktail series. I had a lot of fun making the set up of these cocktails fun and festive.

I don't plan on doing another video in this series unless there is an overwhelming request for a movie I missed from you guys! So let me know if there is a wedding movie you just LOVE that I didn't do a cocktail on.

The bubble bars mixed together looked really pretty and smelled amazing!

This cocktail really did wake me up and give me energy- it has great scents for that!

The design this bath bomb left is pretty beautiful!

The water turned out to be a deep, muddy orange. I wished it would have turned out prettier, but I was still happy as a clam in the bath! Let me know if you try this combo!

Watch my video below that explains the whole cocktail and how it ties into "27 Dresses"!

Let me know how you liked the Summer Wedding Series and if there are any wedding movies I didn't feature that you would really like to see!

Have a good day :)

Lush/Bath Product Demos

Humango from The Lush Wiki website

I think that sometimes it's good to have a resource of quick videos or blog posts to see how a product performs. There have been many times I sit through a long video on YouTube or scan a long blog post for info on one product I'm curious about or wanting to purchase.

I'm going to be starting a few new series on my channel. Some will be Lush related. Just curious what Lush products you would like demonstrated? I think I will kick off the series with Humango, but let me know your opinions! Are there any single products you would like to see demoed? If it's a hard to find item, I'll even try to find it to demo. I can make promises to find every item you ask to see, but I'll do my best! I think will be a fun series!

Comment down below... it can be anything! Whether it's something simple like a regular line product or a limited edition holiday item, every suggestion will be considered!

Twilight bath at twilight :)

I've been obsessed with the Twilight bath bomb this week, so I thought I'd go ahead and take a bath using it. The combination of Twilight and Christmas Eve is a combination you know I love! No matter what stress I'm carrying or sore muscles I have, the Twilight bath bomb has some kind of magical power over me! I only have one of them left and with the Twilight shortage, this makes me somewhat nervous. However, you guys have been great with helping me come up with ideas on how to get my hands on a couple. If I use my last one and they still aren't available at my Lush store or at Lushusa.com, then I'll look at amazon.com or the Lush UK site. Enjoy the bath pictures, I sure enjoyed the bath :)

I absolutely love this face mask- it's effective without being too powerful.

Ahh, this is bliss!

Dark pink/purple goodness :)

Have a good weekend, friends!
